Striped winter dress by funkyfunnybone Striped winter dress by funkyfunnybone
The bodice is made of a fleece like material intended to keep you toasty warm. The idea behind the material choice is provide an EGL-esque dress for girls who don't see this as formal wear, but as any day wear (much like EGL dresses in Japan) that would be worn if you were spending the majority of the day in the cold outside-- therefore, you can be warm AND fashionable :)

I hope you don't take offense to my comments ~_~;; It's just I think the dress here is a little cricked? Hmmm on the left side of the photo. Other than that though, I really like it. I really like the colors, and lace, and I think it's cute how you made the cross.

Ha, and I thought warm and fashionable were incompatible :D This proves the opposite... The only bad thig is that the shoulders might freeze off, but there are still these jacket-like things, they are called bolero or something...
By the way, where on earth do you get these awesome fabrics? O.o

hehe, yeah, I wanted to model it with the one I have but it looked weird because my mannequinn doesn't have arms >_<

oh, and if you're looking for cool fabric that your local fabric stores never carry, then ebay should be your best friend! ;) though it does get kinda pricey at times because of the shipping.. but usually its still worth it :)

Hmm, I actually get most of the fabric from ebay or ikea, because our local stores are so expensive that it'd kill me -.- Just yesterday, I ordered from Austria and the shipping is ok, but I'll never order from any non-EU-countries because of the customs/taxes/whatever. My dad ordered from USA once and the cutoms were almost as expensive as the product itself! O.o

ikea sells fabric?!?!

I had a convo with with this girl from Canada a little while ago about customs and it really is ridiculous! Its one of the few reasons I like living in the US =p I know its probably not legal, but I usually put the price as $0 when I send packages overseas so my customers aren't charged crazy amounts of money in customs fees..

They have awesome cotton fabric for 2,56 at ikea  And various others, also curtain fabric and decoration stuff...I even got linen for medevial clothes. Need to finish that stupid top soon...

Ah, you pretend to send it as a gift? :D That's a great idea! I once got a real gift from Canada, and it landed right in my mailbox *phew* I really don't see the point in charging so much money for custom fees.

Oh, and, btw...if you want to buy fabric from ikea you have to go there. They don't sell it in their online store -.- But do you even have ikea in US? O.o I knew it was a huge chain, but still...
